This Privacy Policy explains how OpenGrants Network ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and submit our grant-matching form (the "Service"). By submitting the form, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
When you use our matching form, we collect only the information you voluntarily provide:
- First name — so we can address you properly.
- Email address — to send you your matched programs and any follow-up guidance.
- Phone / WhatsApp number (optional) — if you choose to provide it, for faster guidance.
- Country — to identify which programs in your region you may be eligible for.
- Age range — a general bracket (e.g. "30–50"), not your exact date of birth, used to narrow down relevant programs.
- Area(s) of support, employment situation, and how you heard about us — to help us tailor the guidance we send you.
We do not ask for, and you should never submit through this form, sensitive financial details such as bank account numbers, social security numbers, national ID numbers, or payment information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you submit for one purpose only: to research and identify government, nonprofit, and foundation programs you may be eligible for, and to send you a personalized list of those programs along with direct links to the official sources where you can apply.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making, or any purpose beyond matching and contacting you about the guidance you requested.
3. Information We Do Not Share
We do not sell, rent, trade, share, or otherwise disclose your name, email, phone number, age range, or country to any third party, organization, advertiser, or data broker, for any reason, at any time. The only people who see your submission are those of us directly involved in researching and sending you your matched programs.
The only exception would be if we are legally required to disclose information in response to a valid court order, subpoena, or similar legal process — in which case we would disclose only what is strictly required by law.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your submitted information for as long as it takes to research and send you your matched programs, and no longer than necessary. All information submitted through our form is automatically and permanently deleted from our database 14 days after the date of submission. After this period, we no longer hold a copy of your name, email, phone number, age range, or country.
If you would like your information deleted sooner, you can request this at any time by emailing us at hello@opengrantsnetwork.org, and we will remove it promptly.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access what we hold about you, request its correction, or request its deletion. Because we delete all data automatically after 14 days, in most cases there will be nothing left to access shortly after that window closes. 6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information you submit while it is in our possession. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
8. Not a Government Body
OpenGrants Network is not affiliated with any government agency or department in any country. We do not issue grants, process applications, or handle funds. We are a free information and navigation service, and submitting your information to us does not constitute applying for or guaranteeing receipt of any grant, benefit, or program.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
